JOURNAL: Piedmont Park Arts Festival

Every year I attend the Piedmont Park Arts Festival which is a 2 day event typically held in August in Piedmont Park in Atlanta, Georgia.  This event showcases crafts, photography services, sculptures, leather and metalwork, jewelry, food and much more related products and services. Over 200 artists head to Piedmont Park for this free festival that is great for families.

KIDS ZONE

Families attending the festival can wander from booth to booth to see a wide array of different types of art, including glass blown, metalwork, leather, jewelry, paintings, photography and sculptures. There was also a kids zone where they can jump on trampolines with bungees, play wipeout, or go on various rides and jump houses.

BOOTHS

In addition to the many exhibition booths, the festival also involved demonstrations by artists, a pavilion to feature new artists, festival food and music. The arts festival creates an event where community members can attend for free and celebrate the art world and its contributors and it feels different every year. This year they included yoga and a silent disco.

This event is a fun free festival that can be truly inspiring and a great way to support local artists. So check it out next time it comes around!
