If you really want to save for a vacation, create an account where there are small deposits made there that are strictly for vacation use. Save here and when on the trip withdraw from this account only, which helps you to stay on budget.
LIQUIDATE UNUSED ITEMS AND POUR INTO VACATION FUND
Sometimes we have lots of unused items laying around the house catching dust that can be sold on Ebay, craigslist or other sites. Do this and then use the funds to help with your vacation fund.

If your travel happens to be for professional, educational or research purposes, you could try to qualify for a travel grant.
CUT BACK ON FOOD BUDGET
Food is important so don’t skimp on meals, instead consider eating out less and preparing your own meals as this tends to bring in cost savings. With the residual income you collect from eating out less, add this to your dedicated savings account for travel.
USE YOUR MILES
If you have a credit card that earns you miles, use them. Alot of folks tend to have miles and don’t realize that even though you may not have enough for a flight, you could still use them for a car or hotel stay in most cases.
PICK UP A PART TIME JOB
To accumulate the funds faster for your travel, pick up a part time job, evenings or weekends if feasible.
