5 Completely Relaxing Getaways

TYBEE ISLAND

Those that have visited here call it a secret treasure and you can experience the annual Pirate Fest when the island transforms into a pirate village. You can visit and climb up the lighthouse and watch a beautiful sunset.

BALD HEAD ISLAND

This already quiet island off the shore of Wilmington, N.C. becomes nearly deserted right now except for the people that reside here. This allows for such a peaceful silence with no cars on the island that is hard to find anywhere.  Despite the somewhat chilly nights, the water stays warm and you can spend time golfing or enjoying bird watching or just relaxing reading a book gazing at the lighthouse.

KATY TRAIL

This trail runs along the Missouri River and cuts right through wine country. Filled with adorable bed and breakfasts where you can relax and rest from a day of biking or hiking through the forests.

CAPE MAY

The butterflies cover this beach town for a few weeks during the fall for their migration, which is a sight to see if you can make it then. You can also shop on Washington Street or bike along Beach Avenue and take in the views.

LEAVENWORTH

This locale has one of the most extravagant Oktoberfest in the U.S. Outside of fall you can also find lots of authentic Bavarian cuisine and imported beer within the traditional Bavarian village.
