5 Best U.S. Cities To Visit In Fall

Fall can be a blissful time to visit so many cities in the US as crowds tend to diminish and the temperatures are cooler. These five spots are some of the places I enjoy visiting in fall.

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS

Here you can enjoy some glorious autumn leaf-peeping opportunities, hop aboard a bus or boat tour in downtown Boston to explore nearby New England towns, or take a stroll along the Charles River, where colorful autumn leaves line the river banks.

SAVANNAH, GEORGIA

Savannah’s spooky factor and ghost tours are a popular reason to visit this historic city in fall. Fall also brings a medley of events and festivals such as Oktoberfest and the Film Festival.  You can also explore the genteel gardens, squares and mansions and historic homes here.

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE

Nashville has a full array of music festivals to explore. You can also experience their autumn themed offerings such as ghost tours, haunted houses, corn mazes and scarecrow exhibits.

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA

New Orleans weather starts to cool and the humidity drops in fall and there are spooky events to attend, especially around Halloween. If you are into Halloween, you can attend the Voodoo Music Experience, a three-day festival of music, underground arts and culture and unusual crafts. There is also a family-friendly Halloween-themed event such as Boo at the Zoo, Crawloween at the Insectarium and Museum Mash at the Louisiana Children’s Museum.

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA

The weather in San Diego in fall is so comfortably warm and sunny without being unbearably scorching. The crowds are less, so the lines for attractions tend to be less. You can even still snorkel in La Jolla Cove, surf at Mission Bay Park and take a hike at Palomar Mountain State Park well into October.
